Spain - Palma, 11 October 2022

> PIMEM, adds to its innovative proposals in the field of corporate responsibility in the fight against the climate crisis a new commitment that will enhance the commitment to sustainability among small and medium enterprises in the Balearic Islands. PIMEM has approximately 1,000 direct associates and 5,000 indirect associates who will be able to join this commitment.

> PIMEM signs an agreement with TRUEWORLD and GATE2CHAIN that will mark the beginning of the federation's path towards decarbonisation and the transition to a sustainable economy. It will be articulated through the programme "Your sustainable business in 5 steps", designed by the Mallorcan startup and created within the RACE TO ZERO framework promoted by the United Nations.

The president of PIMEM, Jordi Mora, and the CEO of TRUEWORLD, Marco Mendoza, have signed this morning a collaboration agreement. With this step, PIMEM takes action against the climate crisis by adding to its many initiatives a clear and simple way to guide small and medium enterprises and the self-employed towards sustainability. To this end, it has teamed up with TRUEWORLD and GATE2CHAIN, two Mallorcan technology companies that have joined forces to offer environmental solutions based on scientific knowledge and technological innovation with Blockchain traceability, to implement a business strategy to mitigate impacts in 5 steps that allows companies to achieve zero net emissions. A commitment to the environment that they hope will serve as a model to encourage all companies to follow in their footsteps.

"PIMEM Compromeses" is PIMEM's initiative that promotes
sustainable business development among its associates

For some time now, PIMEM has been committed to providing companies with all kinds of sustainable business development initiatives and programmes aimed at improving sustainability management. The starting point focused on the field of waste prevention, the promotion of reuse, the promotion of local trade and local production.

Now PIMEM wants to go a step further, leading its associates to consider environmental responsibility principles as part of their management, reducing negative impacts and maximising positive impacts on the environment and also on society and the economy. Its objective is to turn small and medium-sized companies in the Balearic Islands into companies that are 100% committed to sustainability.

To achieve this, together with TRUEWORLD and GATE2CHAIN, it offers its members a practical and economical way to make the change towards sustainable growth, keep up to date with their environmental commitments, qualify for a greater number of benefits and subsidies and, above all, take an active part in the fight against the climate crisis we are facing.

NET ZERO - Your sustainable business in 5 steps is an all-in-one product that includes the steps and requirements to obtain the sustainable business label or net zero emissions. It is based on the calculation and reduction of the carbon footprint of companies, registration in institutional registers, offsetting of emissions through existing conservation projects and own local projects and strategic communication of achievements among their stakeholders. The methodology applied is based on ISO 14064, one of the most internationally used standards, on the highest scientific rigour and on the guarantee of transparency and traceability of data and processes through Blockchain technology.

This product offers multiple benefits for the associates, as in addition to reducing their environmental impact, they will be able to benefit from the savings and control of energy consumption, the potential of sustainability as a sales strategy and obtaining an exclusive position that differentiates them from their competitors, so that they can expand their business opportunities.

The data obtained from the "PIMEM Compromeses" will be processed, evaluated and visualised in TRUEWORLD's independent Climate Change Observatory, a 3D viewer based on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapped on Blockchain. They will also be captured in a quarterly report that will reflect the degree of environmental responsibility and commitment of the partners and will make publicly available baseline data and statistics on the impacts of the different companies.

TRUEWORLD is a pioneering and solid company in the implementation of solutions for the mitigation of environmental impacts and operates with different organisations that play a key role in the fight against the climate crisis, such as the UN Global Compact Spain - the initiative of the United Nations Organisation that leads business sustainability in the world -, which applies TRUEWORLD solutions to calculate the emissions of the organisation of its events and digital impact.

Year 2017: the One Planet Summit is held in Paris - second anniversary of the Paris Agreement - 12 organizations that work in Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT - Blockchain) agree to collaborate and establish a global initiative, the Climate Chain Coalition is born. Two years later, more than 100 companies and institutions are part of this chain with a main objective: to drawdown climate change. Year 2020: TrueWorld Organization (TW) is established, an organization that monitors, in real time thanks to Blockchain technology, all the factors that affect the environment and climate change to make all the information available to society in an accessible and universal manner. TW joins the CCC to pool resources and knowledge and achieve solutions against climate change globally. The DLT system allows measuring, reporting and verifying the impact of all types of operations or processes and the mobilization of climate finance from diversified sources. The potential of Blockchain technology is key in the process of climate change action. It can improve the transparency, accountability and traceability of green gas house emissions as it can support companies and public entities in their process of providing and tracking data in an honest, standardized and accurate manner. The blockchain, unlike centralized networks, was designed to avoid monopoly control of the system. The technology records transactions in an open and permanent way, thus promoting transparency and security. Transactions are peer-to-peer thus eliminating intermediaries. Blockchain has different applications related to the fight against climate change. TW, in addition to the use of blockchain, gathers data and information through the use of smart sensor systems, which gives it the potential to automate and strengthen the monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) of the environmental impact projects. All of this results in an increase in trust among the actors involved in this type of projects. TW is committed to complying with the standards of truthfulness, transparency and innovation that the CCC has as principles, in addition to working under the Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement.
